We know that the best concussion management begins with the quick identification of an injury followed by individualized support. Many credible organizations have developed resources to assist in recognition and support to individuals with concussions. But these resources are often not appropriate for persons with neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g., autism, genetic disorders, or language-based disorders) or who may require modifications to the pace, language, and presentation methods of educational materials or post-injury assessment tools.
VCI offers the Neurodiversity Toolkit to meet this need. Search the library to browse VCI's resources to support concussion management in neurodiverse individuals.
What resources have you found that support concussion recognition and support for individuals with neurodiverse needs?
